NEW ROOFS & RE-FELTING
Complete strip and retile services available. All scaffolding supplied, dealing with necessary permits and building notices and all debris removed from property leaving the site clean and tidy. We are happy to re-use existing tiles or slates if they are in a good condition and we cover concrete interlocking tiles, plain tiles, natural and synthetic slates. All the felt we use is BBM approved and breathable and all batten is treated. We cover all lead work and will be happy to visit your premises with tile/slate samples, so we will can help you create your perfect roof.
We fit all roof windows and velux windows. We fit all tile vents and supply roof ventilation and also insulate lofts.
CHIMNEY STACKS
R.Richards and Son Roofing conducts many chimneystack repairs as part of our general workload. Chimneystacks often seem to be the cause of many leaks into domestic properties through perished lead work and flashings. We also see many loose chimney pots and poor flaunching around the top of chimneystacks which can cause falling debris. Whenever possible dormant or disused chimneystacks should be either reduced in height and capped off or completely removed from the roof to ensure they are unable to cause property damage or harm to the public.
We believe repointing should be carried out when the existing cement mortar is failing to ensure existing chimneystacks are safe, secure and protected against the elements.
FLAT ROOFING
We offer a complete flat roof replacement service which entails stripping off all previous roof membranes from asphalt ,GRP Fibre Glass to mineral felt to asbestos, removal of defective boards and treating or replacing defective and damaged joists. We fit new BBM approved OSB decking boards especially designed for flat roofs. We also offer a choice of insulation and ventilation which can be supplied and fitted within the flat roof system we offer
On our high performance three layer roof system we offer a first layer perforated cap sheet to allow the roof to breathe a second layer 2mm torch on felt which is a waterproof layer and finally a third layer 4mm high performance mineral cap sheet
